Spotify Premium Is Deducting Money Automatically — How to Stop It
You have gone through every screen of the Spotify Android app hunting for a cancel button, and it is not there. Spotify Premium keeps deducting money automatically and the app simply will not let you stop it. Here is the real path, plus the UPI step that ends the deduction.

Step 1 (merchant side): cancel Premium on the web
You must use a browser. Cancellation is not available inside the Android app.
- Open spotify.com/account in a browser and log in.
- Go to Manage your plan.
- Choose Cancel Premium.
- Confirm, then check your email for the confirmation.
Premium keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then drops to the free tier.
Step 2 (mandate side): revoke the Spotify UPI mandate
Cancelling Premium does not automatically remove the mandate sitting at your bank.
- PhonePe: profile icon (top-left) → Manage AutoPay → Spotify → Cancel AutoPay
- Google Pay: profile picture (top-right) → Autopay → Spotify → Cancel autopay
- Paytm: profile icon → UPI Automatic Payments → Manage → Spotify → Cancel
- BHIM: Mandate → My Mandates → Revoke
Use any UPI app linked to that bank account — it does not have to be the one you subscribed from.
Why the money kept going out
Most people do only half the job. Revoking the mandate alone stops the debit but leaves the Spotify plan open, so you may owe them or lose access unexpectedly. Cancelling the plan alone can leave a live mandate that a future subscription reuses. Do the Spotify side first, then the bank side.
One important note
Mandates run to their end date and do not expire early by themselves. Reopen your AutoPay list a week later and confirm Spotify is gone from it.
