How to Stop Netflix Subscription UPI AutoPay

Netflix has taken another ₹649 for a plan nobody at home has opened since March. You poked at it once in your UPI app and the charge came back anyway. To stop Netflix subscription UPI AutoPay properly you need two separate steps, and most people only do one.

Step 1 (merchant side): cancel the membership on Netflix

1. Go to netflix.com or open the Netflix app and sign in.
2. Open Account.
3. Under Membership, choose Cancel Membership.
4. Confirm with Finish Cancellation.

Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, so you lose nothing you paid for. Keep the confirmation email.

Step 2 (mandate side): revoke the Netflix UPI mandate

Cancelling the membership does not always remove the mandate sitting at your bank. Revoke it yourself:

• PhonePe: profile icon (top-left) → Manage AutoPay → Netflix → Cancel AutoPay
• Google Pay: profile picture (top-right) → Autopay → Netflix → Cancel autopay
• Paytm: profile icon → UPI Automatic Payments → Manage → Netflix → Cancel
• BHIM: Mandate → My Mandates → Revoke

Any UPI app linked to that bank account works. It does not have to be the app that created the mandate.

Why both steps matter

Cancelling only the mandate stops the money but leaves the Netflix account active, so you may owe them or lose access at an odd moment. Cancelling only the plan can leave a live mandate that a future subscription quietly reuses. Netflix first, then the bank.

One important note

Mandates run to their end date; they do not expire early on their own. Open your UPI app's AutoPay list a week later and confirm Netflix is no longer listed.
