How to Stop a Paytm Money SIP Automatic Payment
The reminder arrives, then the debit, and this month you want neither. Stopping a Paytm Money SIP automatic payment is simple once you know a SIP and a mandate are different things — and that the wrong order leaves you with failed instalments.

Step 1: Stop the SIP in the Paytm Money app
Go to Mutual Funds → SIPs, select the SIP and choose to stop it. Labels change between versions, so if it is not on the list, open the SIP's detail page.
Before stopping it for good, check whether a pause is offered — most platforms allow a few months' pause, and for a short cash crunch that is usually the better option.
Place the request several days before the next SIP date; AMC-side processing is commonly quoted at around 15–21 working days, though app platforms are far quicker.
Step 2: Then remove the mandate
Once the SIP is confirmed stopped, remove the mandate. On Paytm Money it sits in the profile or settings area, and usually also in the main Paytm app under UPI Automatic Payments. You can equally revoke it from any UPI app linked to that bank account.
If it is nowhere in your UPI apps, it is probably a NACH e-mandate — a separate rail — so check net banking → e-mandate / standing instructions.
Order matters. Revoke first and the SIP stays registered: it tries to collect each month, fails, and each failure is logged as a missed instalment. Some platforms cancel after a few consecutive failures, but do not count on that.
Step 3: What happens to the money already invested
It stays invested. Stopping a SIP ends only future instalments — nothing is redeemed and no units are sold. Money comes back to your bank only through a separate redemption request, and exit load and capital gains tax apply to redemption, not to stopping the SIP.
One important note
A single mandate can cover several SIPs, so revoking it may quietly stop all of them. Mutual fund SIPs also fall in the exception category with a ₹1,00,000 limit rather than the usual ₹15,000 additional-factor threshold, so even a large instalment can be debited without a PIN prompt. This is information, not financial advice; speak to your advisor before a big decision.
Short FAQ
Is my invested amount refunded when I stop the SIP? No — stopping and redeeming are separate.
Where do I see the mandate? In Paytm Money settings, and under UPI Automatic Payments in Paytm.
Stop the SIP, confirm it, then clear the mandate. In that order your existing investment is unaffected.
